Originally released as a 7 inch vinyl in 1976, "Il trucido e lo sbirro" features two main themes from the Italian cultish movie of the same name. "Dirty Gang", composed by Bruno Canfora, is a jazz-funk gem performed by the superb RAI Television orchestra, which counted among its members some of the greatest soloists of the time. It has an eclectic arrangement that recalls some of the best blaxploitation movie scores."Dirty Ballad" by Giorgio Cascio, on the other hand, is a folk ballad with mellow guitar melodies and intense vocals.
